Live electricity
This graph shows your area's live electricity flow (updates every 15 minutes). The default setting shows the last 24 hours, but the interval can be toggled via the "Week" or "24 hours" buttons. If you are wondering which interval you have selected, have a look at the axis below your graph.
The graph legend is interactive and can deactivate chosen data by clicking on e.g., “Interconnection Sweden”. You can toggle to consumption via the button “Consumption”.
In the donut chart to the right, you can inspect the share of emissions per electricity source in your selected time interval. Remember that all charts are interactive, and you can hover your cursor over the chart to see more details. The average greenhouse gas emissions per kWh for all energy sources combined during your chosen time interval is presented in the centre of the donut chart.
NB! When your area exports electricity, interconnection flows are below zero in the graph.
Please note that these emissions are calculated from the area's electricity transmission and not from end-users' individual electricity agreements. The energy data (excluding solar PV) is collected from Kraftnät Åland's systems and the Life-cycle emission factors from www.electricitymaps.com.
Solar PV is calculated via live solar radiation from the Finnish Meteorological Institute's station in Mariehamn to determine the current electricity production from PV based of the installed capacity on Åland. This is done by correlating the current radiation to the average annual radiation knowing the theoretical production of solar PV on Åland [900 kWh/kWp].
